Donation & Sponsorship Guidelines
At New Horizon Co-op we believe that our success is because of our community and members who purchase our products. We are committed to bettering the lives of our members and taking initiative in the communities we serve.
Every week our team of managers get together and discuss ways in which we can help out the community and donation/sponsorship requests are evaluated. It is necessary, due to the thousands of funding requests we receive each year, to establish a long-term community sponsorship strategy.

Sponsorship Request Guidelines
Requests
In today’s world, appeals for support grow annually in number and variety. While recognizing the growing needs of our community realizing that we cannot support each group, our Marketing Committee monthly identifies key areas of giving donations/sponsorship on the needs of our community and social issues.
All requests are reviewed by the Marketing Committee once a week.
Guidelines
New Horizon Co-op reviews each request as it applies to our Marketing Committee’s goals, areas for support and the following guidelines:
- Groups must be non-profit and community organizations within the general trading area of New Horizon Co-op.
- Community level donations will have priority over national donations
- Special considerations may be given to groups that adhere to co-operative principals
The following is a list of groups to which New Horizon Co-op considers inappropriate to donate to:
- Individuals or self interest groups
- Religious organizations, except those offering community service on a non-denominational basis.
- Private clubs or organizations
- Trips or tours
- Conferences, workshops and conventions
- Political groups
Limitations on giving
New Horizon Co-op recognizes the vital and worthwhile role performed by the many charitable organizations in our community. However, due to limited financial resources, we will restrict our support to those groups who best match our objectives.
